First Impressions

French bistro cooking with a Filipino-Asian accent, run by the Levha sisters — one of the most personal, original kitchens in the 11th.

Le Servan is run by sisters Tatiana and Katia Levha, who grew up partly in Asia and bring a Filipino and Southeast-Asian sensibility to French bistro cooking — a combination that feels entirely their own. Tatiana is married to Septime's Bertrand Grébaut, which places Le Servan squarely in the 11th-arrondissement neo-bistrot family tree, though the restaurant is very much its own voice. Opened in 2014, it occupies a corner room with painted ceilings and big windows, and the cooking is bright, herbal, and quietly thrilling.

THE ROOM

Dress the part — the room rewards a jacket, and lunch is a smart alternative to dinner.
