First Impressions

The tasting menu restaurant in London I return to most consistently. Brett Graham has been refining this kitchen since 2005 and the work shows in every plate.

The Ledbury is Brett Graham's restaurant on Ledbury Road, and it is the tasting menu destination in London that I go back to more than any other — which is as close to a superlative as I give this format. Graham is Australian by background, French-trained by education, and the combination produces food that reads as European but thinks like somewhere else entirely. The dishes consistently surprise without performing surprise.

The kitchen upgraded to three Michelin stars in 2024, which is the inspectors catching up with what regular visitors have known for years. The menu changes seasonally with discipline. The wine list is serious. The service is precise without being cold. If you're going to do one tasting menu in London, make it this one.

What We Loved
THE KITCHEN

Seasonal, European-rooted, technically demanding, and more interesting than almost anything else in London at this level. The game courses in autumn are the reason to time a visit carefully.

THE ROOM

A calm, well-proportioned Notting Hill dining room — not flashy, which is the right call for a restaurant where the cooking is the entire argument. Tables have space. The room has quiet confidence.

THE VIBE

The Ledbury is the tasting menu restaurant that justifies the form. Book far ahead, go in autumn for the game, and give it your full attention.

Worth Knowing

Reserve well in advance — this room fills weeks out, especially on weekends.

Aim for an earlier seating if you want a calmer room; later tables run louder and longer.
