The original on Lamb's Conduit Street in Bloomsbury is the one — small, warm, seriously stocked, run by Mark Andrew and Dan Keeling with the conviction of people who know exactly what kind of place they want and are not interested in diluting it.
The food is good enough to deserve full attention — modern European, ingredient-led, the kind of cooking that makes sense next to a serious wine list because it's designed to be eaten with wine rather than photographed. The menu changes with the season. The list rewards time and trust. Go for a long evening and let the kitchen and cellar do the work.
What We Loved
Modern European — seasonal, precise, designed to be eaten alongside wine rather than in spite of it. The charcuterie and the fish dishes are consistently the strongest orders.
A small, warm Bloomsbury room — intimate, unfussy, with the feel of a room that has found its identity and settled into it. Books line the walls. Wine is everywhere.
