Hotel Eden is a Rome grande dame — a historic luxury hotel (now Dorchester Collection) near Via Veneto whose single greatest asset is its rooftop: the restaurant and bar there have, by common agreement, the best view of Rome from any hotel terrace, a sweeping panorama across the rooftops and domes. The hotel beneath it is appropriately polished and classic. Even if you don't stay, the rooftop is worth a drink or a meal for the view alone.

What We Loved
The rooftop restaurant and terrace have the best view from any hotel in Rome — the panorama from the Pincian Hill toward St Peter's is one of the great urban landscapes of the world, and you have it from a table.
98 rooms is smaller than a grand dame typically gets. The Eden has the atmosphere and the standard of a Dorchester Collection property at a size where you can actually feel the care.
Dorchester Collection properties deliver a specific kind of old-world luxury — formal but not rigid, expensive but never contemptuous. Hotel Eden is one of their best.
Opened in 1889. The guest list across 130 years reads like a survey of the 20th century. The hotel owns that history with grace.
