First Impressions

The bakery arm of Claridge's kitchen, available to anyone willing to queue outside a discreet Mount Street address.

Claridge's Bakery is not inside the hotel. It operates as a separate retail space on Mount Street — a storefront that sells the croissants, sourdough, and pastries made in the same kitchen that feeds one of London's great hotels. The quality is exactly what that implies.

The croissants are exceptional. The sourdough has a proper crust. The seasonal pastries shift and are always worth it. They sell out before noon, which is not a warning so much as information.

What We Loved
WHAT IT IS

The croissants come first. The sourdough is made with levain that has been running for some time. The Paris-Brest appears seasonally and is not to be missed.

THE VIBE

Go on a weekday if you want the quieter experience. The weekend crowd knows about this. The queue moves, but it is a queue.

Worth Knowing

What to order — the croissant; the sourdough if you are taking something home; the Paris-Brest when it appears.
