Les Suites Cinabre

Two suites. That's it. Tucked into Cité Bergère — a pedestrianised passage in the 9th that most tourists never find — Les Suites Cinabre is less a hotel than a curated private apartment that happens to accept guests. Pierre Frey archive fabrics on the walls and ceiling, Hästens beds, the founder's own photographs and rare books on the shelves. At €850–950 a night it asks a lot, but it delivers an experience you won't find anywhere else in Paris.

Cité Bergère is one of those quiet, cobbled Parisian passages that feels like a film set — it's pedestrianised, lined with 19th-century architecture, and entirely calm despite being five minutes from the Grand Boulevards. You arrive at what looks like a private building, ring a bell, and enter something that feels nothing like a hotel.

Each suite runs to around 1,000 square feet and is decorated with the founder's personal collection: family photographs, vintage furniture sourced over years, rare books, objects with provenance. The walls and ceiling of the lounge in Suite N°1 are wrapped in a Pierre Frey archive print retrieved specifically for this project. Beds are Hästens. Nothing is generic.

This is a place for people who find standard luxury hotels anonymous. There's no lobby, no restaurant, no spa — just two exceptional private spaces in one of Paris's most characterful hidden streets. Service is attentive and discreet precisely because the scale allows it.

The 9th puts you close to Opéra, the covered passages, and a strong restaurant scene — it's a genuinely useful base. Gare du Nord is reachable in under 15 minutes.
