Le Royal Monceau Raffles is the palace for the art crowd. Philippe Starck redesigned it with his particular theatrical wit, and the result is a hotel that takes contemporary culture seriously — a genuine art bookshop, an art concierge, a private screening room.
It is the least stuffy of the Paris palaces and the most playful, without sacrificing the comfort the tier demands.

First Impressions
Near the Arc de Triomphe, a Starck interior that announces itself as something other than the standard palace — wit and art where you expect gilt and hush.
The Rooms
Starck's design throughout — guitars in some rooms, a residential and creative feel rather than a museum one. Generous and contemporary.
Food & Drink
Strong dining and one of the best hotel spas in Paris, with a notable pool. The art bookshop and cinema make the public spaces a destination in themselves.

The 8th near the Étoile — Arc de Triomphe, the top of the Champs-Élysées, Parc Monceau a short walk.

What We Loved
Le Royal Monceau's gallery brings serious contemporary art into a hotel context. The Art District concept — with its own bookshop, cinema, and gallery — makes this one of the most culturally engaging hotel experiences in Paris.
A 99-seat private cinema with Philippe Starck-designed seating and a serious programming schedule. One of the great underused hotel amenities in Paris.
The spa and pool are among the most beautiful in the city. The facilities reflect the Raffles investment in physical plant.
Avenue Hoche, off the Étoile — the right distance from everything without being in the middle of anything you don't want to be in the middle of.

- 02Philippe Starck's interiors are maximalist. If you prefer restraint, this is not the aesthetic.
