L'Aventure

Thierry Costes opened L'Aventure in early 2026, converting five upper floors of a building on Avenue Victor Hugo into a 15-room five-star hotel above a restaurant and a members' club. Interior designer Vincent Darré gave each room a distinct personality — rich greens, burgundy, velvet, a slightly surreal edge — and most look out over the Arc de Triomphe. It's theatrical in the best possible way.

Avenue Victor Hugo in the 16th is refined, residential, and not particularly loud — which makes the fact that L'Aventure has a nightclub in the basement all the more unexpected. The entrance is discreet. Upstairs, the hotel opens into something considerably more expressive: Vincent Darré's interiors are rich, whimsical, and crafted with real care.

Fifteen rooms, each individually decorated, most with a view of the Arc de Triomphe. Expect deep colour palettes, artisan furniture, and that particular Costes attention to atmosphere. The penthouse, at €5,000 a night, is in a different category altogether. Even the entry-level rooms feel special.

The ground-floor restaurant carries the Costes hallmarks: generous, precise plates, fluid service, desserts worth ordering. Velvet and brocade, good lighting, the kind of room where dinner runs long without anyone minding.

A mosaic-lined corridor in the basement leads to what might be the smallest deep house club in Paris — intimate, members-only in spirit, but accessible to hotel guests. The natural flow from dinner to drinks to dancing is part of what L'Aventure is selling.

The 16th is quieter than the centre, which suits the hotel's register. The Arc de Triomphe is a short walk; Saint-Germain and the Marais are each under 20 minutes by taxi.
