La Reserve Plage

ROUTE DES SALINS
Map →Website →
First Impressions

La Reserve's beach is not on Pampelonne. It is on a quieter bay to the east of the village, accessible by a drive that most people do not bother making. This is the entire point.

The bay is sheltered and the water is calmer than the open stretches of Pampelonne. The food comes from the hotel kitchen, which is a serious kitchen. The service operates at the standard of the hotel above — which is to say, considerably above the average beach club.

Non-guests can access the beach when space allows. Call in advance. The hotel will tell you honestly whether there is room and will not waste your drive.

What We Loved
The bay

Quieter than Pampelonne. Sheltered water, calmer swimming, less noise. The right beach for the morning swim.

The food

Hotel kitchen quality at a beach. The difference is immediate and obvious.

The crowd

Hotel guests and people who know. Nobody stumbled in here accidentally.

The drive

The route along the Salins road is beautiful. The beach rewards the extra twenty minutes.

Worth Knowing Before You Book

Call before making the drive. Day access depends on hotel occupancy and is not guaranteed.

Not on Pampelonne — it is a separate bay further east. This is a feature, not a limitation.

If you are staying at La Reserve, the beach is the best reason to stay there.
